Culture-Fest

Its not all work at the workshop as we managed to sneak up to London to check out a few exhibitions. Now in our previous lives of working for big financial businesses, the regular trip to London usually meant some team meeting or management appraisals but now its looked at as a proper day out, one with trains, underground tubes and a great selection of places to eat.

We had at least two destinations in mind, firstly the Alexander MacQueen exhibition – Savage Beauty at the V&A and Inventing Impressionism at the National Gallery. Both absolutely amazing. The week before though we had heard of an exhibition at the Tate Modern about Sonia Delaunay and if we had time we would try and make it to there too. Luckily we managed to get to the Tate to see the work of this inspiring artist. For a woman whose career spanned most of the 20th century, her work ranged from fashion, textiles, costume, interior decoration, advertising and set design. If you are in anyway interested in textiles, go now to see this exhibition of someone who really was ahead of her time.
