No, it’s not Game of Thrones….it’s “Girls on Tour”…
This year has already brought loss, milestone birthdays, retirement planning, sale contracts and lots of other life defining moments. With this in mind, it sometimes makes sense to slow down, take a deep breath and remind ourselves what is important and to spend time enjoying the now.
We were lucky as when we first started on our upholstery journey many moons ago, we found ourselves part of what we term our Dorset Collective of upholsterers. Having met on our AMUSF training course we gelled over fabrics and stitched edge rolls and although we each all have our own upholstery businesses now, we have never found ourselves in competition with each other and love nothing more than getting together and sharing our combined love of anything chair related, which frankly bores our families into a deep sleep…
Following on from a successful trip over the channel to Versailles, five years ago, we have been banging on about doing another trip and it came to pass that over a flat white and a cheese toastie, we finally agreed a place, date and price.
With thanks from Stavros and his family owned Airbnb apartment and a budget airline, we departed from Bournemouth airport to Paphos to enjoy some family free time with hopefully some sun thrown in. Unfortunately, we hadn’t quite realised that the flight was so long and the distance was pushing the boundaries of a long weekend away but we felt it was worth the pain.
We swam in the sea, smelt delightful oranges on trees, ate fabulous salads and did lots of walking as well as enjoying a few glasses or two of something cold. We got Cally hooked on a lager at lunchtime, had a “big fish” and saw some amazing mosaics as well as underground tombs.
So we’d like to thank Jules and Caryn for a wonderful trip away and next time we’ll try and arrange it so that Ali isn’t busy lambing. Cally & Kay
